Chocolate Fish Races
Chocolate Fish Races run once a month on a Tuesday evening when daylight savings starts. Watch out for the occassional weekend and winter races too. The aim of Chocolate Fish races is to built up your fitness over the season, its a great 30 minute workout! While some race to prepare for upcoming races(eg Longbeach Challenge), most come along to improve there fitness and catch up with friends, and some just ride for the chocolate fish at the end - these are casual social races! Most races begin at the Skills Area on Dobson Street West. Parking is available . Keep an eye on our Facebook page and member emails for race details. All competitors recieve a chocolate fish at the end of the race.
In the summer (daylight saving hours), the Chocolate Fish races are held fortnightly. The course is approximately 10km along the MTB Loop. Racing formats vary with mass starts, handicaps, sealed handicaps and team races to keep things interesting. Children have the option of completing a shorter loop, parents are more than welcome to ride with children. Note that there will be no marshals on course so riders need to be familiar with the course.
Registration 6.15pm, Race start – 6.30pm.
If you do not want to race and would rather ride the course you have the option of starting after the last racer has started.
Dates will be emailed to members and posted on facebook.
